We recently added a requirement to register with your name and e-mail address before you leave a comment on stories. What do you think of that policy? Feel free to leave your opinions, anonymous or not, on this blog.

Excellent decision. Hopefully, this will eliminate the rude and immature remarks.
I like to stay a bit under the radar screen since my name is similar - alright identical - to one of your Fine Reporters. So maybe I'll register as Wilma!
I like it... but with the feature cames with additional responsabiltites. Like privacy protections that you must give the readers and users. Dont share the info with marketing companies, police.....
Update: The registration requirement didn't really change a thing, in terms of eliminating rudeness, because people figured out that they could make up user names. Most people complained that the registration was a hassle, too. So we removed it!

I like it. It would be cool to be able to email directly to the person commenting.
